Özet:

The Epic of Akbuzat encompasses many elements of the culture and lifestyle of the Bashkir Turks. Through various events and motifs in its plot, the epic conveys to its audience the idea of respecting nature and other living beings, emphasizing coexistence based on equal rights. It achieves this through the use of symbols and the incorporation of mythical elements, which strengthen the narrative by portraying both the conflict between humans and nature and the unity that emerges from resolving this conflict. The transformation of this conflict into unity, as well as the interpretation of the literary text from an environmental perspective, constitutes a theoretical approach that has been explored under frameworks such as ecocriticism, bioethics, and ecofolklore. These approaches analyze literatures engagement with environmental issues. These approaches focus on the relationship between humans, nature, and animals in oral and written narratives, emphasizing that nature is a living entity and advocating for the abandonment of an anthropocentric perspective in favor of respecting all elements. In this study, the Epic of Akbuzat from the Bashkir Turks has been analyzed through these methods in terms of human struggle against nature and struggles against other forces with the aid of nature. Thus, through the Epic of Akbuzat, which belongs to the Bashkir epic tradition, the perspective of the Turkish Worlds epic tradition on human, nature, and animal relationships has been presented within a specific sample. Additionally, suggestions have been made regarding how these approaches can be utilized in various fields through folklore today.
