Özet:

The relationship between the qirāāt studies and the Arabic language is well known. It is possible to see this relationship in the context of the basic concepts of the qirāāt studies. İshmām, one of the basic concepts related to the method in the qirāāt studies, is used for different applications in terms of definition, purpose, benefit and proof. Considering the different applications called ishmām in the qirāāt studies, it is seen that the definitions made for this concept are not inclusive of all types of ishmām. In these definitions, one or a few common types of ishmām examples are taken as basis and a definition of ishmām that includes other types of ishmām is not made. It is not possible to understand all the varieties of ishmām based on these definitions. Therefore, it is essential to identify the practices expressed with the concept of ishmām and to reveal the distinctive qualities of each practice. This study, which aims to reveal the concept of ishmām in all its aspects in both linguistic and sources of qirāāt, makes a conceptual analysis of ishmām, evaluates the definitions in the sources related to this concept in terms of ishmām examples and examines all ishmām types in the context of the ihtijāj al-qirāʾāt.

Dolayısıyla işmâm kavramıyla ifade edilen uygulamaların tespit edilerek her birinin ayırt edici niteliklerinin ortaya konması elzemdir. Gerek dil gerekse kıraat kaynaklarından hareketle işmâm kavramını bütün yönleriyle ortaya koymayı amaçlayan bu çalışma, işmâmın kavramsal tahlilini yaparak bu kavrama dair kaynaklarda yer alan tanımları işmâm örnekleri açısından değerlendirmekte ve bütün işmâm çeşitlerini kıraatlerin ihticâcı bağlamında incelemektedir.
