Özet:

Since its discovery, photography has been strengthened by its evidential feature. However, the development of technology has brought the relationship between photographs and reality to a controversial point. Today, images created by artificial intelligence technology and algorithms that , which do not refer to physical reality, have gone beyond new realities and completely severed the images connection with physical reality. It is thought that this situation creates changes in the relationship between the photograph and the viewer. This article examines the credibility of images generated by artificial intelligence depicting unrealized events or moments in the context of reality. It also questions whether these images can be considered photographs and accepted as real. The article employs qualitative methods. Two separate groups were interviewed using the selected method. The groups were shown documentary photographs of butchers followed by images of butchers created with artificial intelligence. The participants were asked to evaluate the reality of the images using semi-structured questions. In this context, this research examines the relationship between photography and reality, specifically questioning the authenticity of images produced by artificial intelligence that do not reference physical reality. It also addresses the problem of evaluating these images as real.
