Özet:

The aim of this study is to examine the transformations experienced by Traditional Aksaray Houses, with a particular focus on how spatial arrangements in houses that have retained their original function have evolved over time in response to user needs. This investigation is conducted through a comparative analysis based on a selected case study. The selected example is the Hacı Osman Ünsal House Ünsallar Mansion, which has been adapted to contemporary standards without restoration and is located within the Taşpazar Neighborhood Urban Conservation Area. The house, which remains structurally intact, retains a significant portion of its facade features. The presence of previous studies on the house and the fact that its current condition is documentable are important factors in the selection of the house. In line with all these data, the changes and transformations that Hacı Osman Ünsal House has undergone were analyzed according to the information obtained from written sources and the information received from the users. Accordingly, the changes in the spatial organization of the house were processed on the floor plans obtained and the changes in the facade layout were tried to be revealed with photographs. Thus, through the example of Hacı Osman Ünsal House, the reasons for change and transformation of Traditional Aksaray Houses and their continuity of use are discussed.
