Özet:

Aim: This study was conducted to determine the effects of complaints during pregnancy on quality of life and the relationship between fear of childbirth and stress. Subjects and Methods: The study was conducted in the NST Non Stress Test polyclinic of a hospital in eastern Turkey between November 1 and December 31, 2023. The universe of the study consisted of pregnant women who were 20 weeks or older and applied to the NST polyclinic. The data of the study were collected by the researcher in a single session of approximately 10 minutes using a face-to-face interview method. The sample size was calculated as at least 367 pregnant women with a 5 error level, a two-way significance level, a 95 confidence interval, and 80 power. However, considering the loss of data, 386 pregnant women were reached. Results: It was determined that the mean W-DEQ score increased as the level of education increased, while the mean TPDS score increased in pregnant women whose pregnancies were unplanned and who were expecting a girl, and the difference between the groups was significant p0.05. It was determined that there was a low level positive relationship between the PCILQ and W-DEQ, TPDS total score and negative affect sub-dimension and this relationship was statistically significant p0.001. It was determined that there was a low level positive relationship between W-DEQ and TPDS total score, spouse involvement and negative affect sub-dimension scores, and this relationship was statistically significant p0.001. Conclusion: It was determined that there was a relationship between the effects of complaints during pregnancy on quality of life and fear of childbirth and stress, that fear of childbirth increased as the level of education increased, and that stress increased among pregnant women whose pregnancies were unplanned and who were expecting a girl.
