Özet:

Cyprus was conquered by the Ottoman Empire in 1571. After the Ottoman period in Cyprus lasted 307 years, the administration of the island was temporarily given to England in 1878. Turkish Cypriot people struggled for existence after 1878 when the island was given to England. While Turkish Cypriots were the main element in Cyprus during the Ottoman period, they remained at a secondary level during the British period and began to lose the political, social, and economic rights they previously had. This process started to change after the War of Independence and continued under the guidance of Mustafa Kemal Pasha. The Turkish Cypriot people adopted Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk as their leader in the period from 1923, when it was legally handed over to England with the Treaty of Lausanne, until today, and implemented Atatürks Principles and Revolutions on the Island without hesitation, and created the Crescent and Star Flag, which is the symbol of the National Struggle in Turkey. He accepted the National Anthem and the National Anthem as sacred in his own struggle for independence did not compromise on them and applied them to his own life. In this study, although the Turkish Cypriot people did not have direct contact with Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the historical process of their adoption of him and his principles and their reflection on their current life will be tried to be revealed by using first and second-hand sources.
