Özet:

During the last few years, parallel to the development of mechanized excavation
workings, the methane explosions resulting from the friction between rock and metal
surfaces has gained importance. Parameters effecting these type of explosions can be
 classified in three following groups.
 — The properties of explosive gas mixture and ignition surfaces,
 — Rock type,
 — The properties related with the application of excavation process and cutter bits.
The first condition for the explosion to occur is the mixing of explosive gas to the
mine air in certain proportions. Generally the methane is the cause of danger during
the mine workings. The existance of hydrogen, ethane and prophane gases; however,
decreases the lower explosion limit of the mixture.
Rock type is also an important factor. As the quartz content and the particle size of
rock gets higher, the possibility of explosion increases.
Wearing of bits and the increment of cutting speed plays an important role in
 increasing the danger.
It is determined that cooling of bits and rock excavated using water sprays decreases
 the possibil ity of explosions.

Madencilikte son yıllarda mekanize kazı çalışmalarının artması ile birlikte, metalin
kayaca sürtünmesi sonucu oluşan grizu patlamaları önem kazanmıştır. Bu tür patlamaları
etkileyen parametreleri üç grupta toplamak mümkündür.
 Bunlar:
