Özet:

Public art emerges through artworks and projects that develop with community participation and environmental interaction, offering historical and cultural contexts. The metaverse provides a technological and digital environment that challenges the boundaries of postmodern art, expands digital public spaces, and redefines the social function of art. In this context, the study investigates the role of public art within the metaverse in terms of social participation, cultural diversity, and punk aesthetics. The research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing document analysis and visual analysis methods. Given the novelty of the metaverse as a field of study, the literature review encompasses the past 20 years. The concept of the metaverse and its relationship with art are examined through causal comparison. Public art pieces on various metaverse platforms are observed, and their reflection of cultural diversity is evaluated through visual analyses. The study discusses the ways public art reflects cultural diversity and the acceptance of cyber-punk aesthetics as a new form of expression in digital art. It also considers the different views and experiences of metaverse users regarding the social function of art. Future research on the impact of cyber-punk aesthetics and the role of art in society within the metaverse is expected to contribute significantly to the body of knowledge in art history, cultural studies, and digital media. The findings provide insights into the multifaceted effects of public art in the metaverse by integrating perspectives from art history, cultural studies, and digital media. This comprehensive examination of the potential impacts of the metaverse on art and society offers new perspectives on the digital transformation of art and cultural diversity.
