Özet:

The concepts of stinginess and generosity are frequently discussed in classi-cal Arab poetry and prose. Although el-Câhizs d. 255869 book el-Buḫalâʾ is consi-dered the first independent work written on the character of stingi-ness, it is seen that there were some studies before it. This work, which is the masterpiece of Câhiz, who is considered to be the representative of Eastern literature in the con-text of the figure in question and who wrote an inde-pendent work on this theme, has been translated into different languages and has been mentioned frequently in the history of world literature. In ad-dition, with this work, he became a source of inspiration for the writers who came after him and paved the way for the emer-gence of new works. As the character of humor gained a wide place in literature, humorous and literary discourses addressing stinginess began to emerge. While misers and stingi-ness have always been criticized in both prose and verse, gene-rosity and generous people have been praised since ancient times. İbnul-Mibred ed-Dımaşkîs d. 9091503 work named İtḥâfun-nubelâʾ can also be seen as a re-sult of this. Ibnul-Mibred, who started to study science when he was a child, rece-ived his primary education and especially the education of Han-bali jurisprudence from his father and grandfather, who were scholars. In addition to the education he received in his family, Ib-nul-Mibred took les-sons from well-known scholars of Damascus in various fields such as the Quran, tafsir, hadith, fiqh, Sufism, gram-mar, history and medicine. İbnul-Mibred, who is mostly famous for his knowled-ge of fiqh, in his work İtḥâfun-nubelâʾ, gave examples from classical Arabic poetry after discussing stinginess and generosity in terms of terms and religion. When the couplets are examined, it is understood that the poet criticizes stinginess and some-times satirizes his opponent with it, and sees generosity as a source of pri-de. This shows that generosity has a very important position in Arab society. The-refore, it is important to see how stinginess and generosity are handled in classi-cal Arabic poetry. In the article, the issue of how stinginess and ge-nerosity are handled in classical Arabic poetry will be examined, limited to the work of Ibnul-Mibred in question.
