Özet:

The commentators received help from various sciences while conducting their tafsir activities. One of the most important of these sciences, which are examined together in ʻulūm al-Qurān studies, is the issue of gharīb al-Qurān, whose roots go back to the Companions. In the history of Islamic science, many studies have been carried out that centre on the science of gharīb al-Qurān. In our article, one of these works, Tafsir gharīb al-Qurān, is attributed to Zayd b. ʻAli d. 122740, the founding imam of the Zaydiyya sect, has been examined. This work of Imam Zayd b. ʻAli stands out as the first gharīb al-Qurān work that has survived to the present day after the works attributed to ʻAbd Allāh b. ʻAbbās d. 68687-88. Despite this, it is seen that there is no reference to Tafsir gharīb al-Qurān in the tafsir sources written in the period after Zayd b. ʻAli. The most obvious reason is that serious allegations were put forward regarding the soundness of the works mawthūqiyya to Zayd b. ʻAli. For this reason, in our article, the issue of the origin of the work has been analysed in detail from various aspects by focusing on the hadith method criteria. As a result of this analysis, it has been concluded that there is no significant problem in the mawthūqiyya of the work to Zayd b. ʻAli. It is thought that with the results achieved, the relevant work will be more recognised in our countrys scientific circles and will be considered in academic studies.
