Özet:

Ḥadīth has two basic elements: isnād and matn. It is stated that the use of the isnād became widespread in the second century of the Hijri era, and from the third century onwards, isnād became an integral part of the ḥadīths. However, this does not mean that isnād is used in its perfect form. It is stated that in the 4th10th century, there were some difficulties in using voluminous books, mukhtaṣar type works began to be written in different disciplines and were ḥadhf in the isnād of voluminous works and rewritten. There are some evaluations that the term ḥadhf in the isnād entered in the ḥadīths literature during the period in question. However, it is controversial which are the first examples in ḥadhf in the isnād was seen. Accordingly, in this study, issues such as what is ḥadhf in the isnād, its historical development, the first examples seen and the justification of ḥadhf in the isnād and its effect on the authenticity reliability of the ḥadīths were examined in accordance with the data of ḥadīths science and using the induction method. At the end of the research, it was concluded that the tradition of writing mukhtaṣar type works began in the fourth century of the Hijra, that the term ḥadhf in the isnād was included in the ḥadīth literature in this period, that the works of the cemʿ type pioneered this, and that the criterion regarding the authenticity of the ḥadīths gradually shifted from the isnād to the work and the author.
