Özet:

The main subject of our poetry is love. The eye is one of the most important elements of beauty of the lover that nourishes this love. In this respect, ogle is one of the indispensable subjects of the depiction of human love, and it has been used with various simile elements in classical poetry. For the lover, having his beloved look at him and having his heart be the recipient of these gazes is a unique blessing in the world. Otherwise, if the lover does not look and turns hisher face away, it is an irreparable loss. While the concept of dimple is used in the relationship between the lover and the beloved in the field of literature, in Sufism, the relationship between the disciple and the master is explained with the concept of glance. Many Sufis explained their encounters with their mentors in their hymns with the concept of glance and drew the same framework as the ogle that divan poets emphasized. However, there are some dynamics on which these concepts are based in the cultural world to which they belong. In this study, we tried to provide a new perspective on the subject by evaluating ogles together with the glance. We focused on some verses and thoughts that form the basis for glance and dimple in Islamic culture. We approached the story of Moses on Mount Tur from a different perspective and tried to establish the relationship between the perception of the companions in the Islamic society and the glance and ogles. As a result, in this short study, we tried to express the commonality of the concepts of ogle and glance in their world of meaning and the Islamic culture with which they come into contact as a basis.
