Özet:

This research examines the complex relationship between land and identity in Palestinian poetry, to clarify how land transcends its geographical dimension to become a central symbol of identity, belonging, and history. The article emphasizes the importance of this study for understanding how Palestinian poetry reflects the Palestinian peoples experiences by embodying land as a symbol of sanctity and resilience in the face of displacement and occupation. The main issue in the research is analyzing how poetry portrays land not merely as a geographical space but as an emotional and historical symbol that reflects national identity and the experiences of the Palestinian people. The study aims to explore how Palestinian poetry depicts land as a sacred symbol reflecting identity and belonging, analyze the emotional dimensions associated with land such as nostalgia and resilience, and examine the role of geographical descriptions in enhancing the meanings of identity and belonging. The study also seeks to analyze selected poetic texts to interpret the symbols and meanings that reflect the relationship between Palestinians and their land. The study employs an analytical method to analyze symbols and rhetoric, a historical method to examine the impact of historical events on the portrayal of land, and a semantic method to understand the meanings of identity and belonging. The basic structure of the article includes: analysis of the role of land as a symbol in Palestinian poetry, study of the emotional connection between Palestinians and the land, examination of the geographical descriptions of land in poetry, and concludes with a summary of the results. The findings indicate that in Palestinian poetry, land is considered a sacred symbol reflecting identity and resilience, and it embodies national memory and resistance. The study shows that land transcends being merely a geographical space to become a symbol of memory and justice, and that geographical descriptions are used to enhance the sense of belonging and national claims. In conclusion, the study affirms that Palestinian poetry reflects the deep connection between Palestinians and their land and remains a record of struggle expressing the resilience and will of the Palestinian people through symbolism and poetic expression.
