Özet:

Sub-Saharan Africa draws attention as an actor whose importance increases day by day in the world political scene in the 21st Century. Public diplomacy, on the other hand, stands out as one of the concepts frequently used in the literature, especially in recent years. This article focuses on Turkiyes activities toward Sub-Saharan African countries, from the Africa Opening Action Plan launched in 1998, in the light of the concept of public diplomacy, which is one of the most important tools of current foreign policy. In this context, the steps taken by Turkiye to increase her effectiveness in Sub-Saharan Africa and the reflections of these steps on the region are traced in todays world where traditional policy-making, and implementation practices have been transformed. At this point, the article aims to address Turkiye - Sub-Saharan Africa relations from politics to economy, from culture to education. Thats why, the main axis of this study is Turkiyes public diplomacy activities for the region in question, i.e., in the article, Turkiyes public diplomacy activities towards Sub-Saharan African countries are discussed and evaluated. The data needed are obtained from the secondary data concerning the relationships between Turkiye and Sub-Saharan countries in the context of public diplomacy. It is seen that Turkiye has an increasing collaboration with the Sub-Saharan countries in recent decades from education to humanitarian aid, from diplomacy to economic cooperation.
