Özet:

The concept of public space is considered within the framework of a physical space by the disciplines of planning and design, while in the field of social sciences, it is often considered as an area where communities can be represented by gaining visibility. Particularly in Turkey, spaces defined as public are defined as spaces that make actions such as socialization, accidental or planned meeting, or leisure possible, whether designed or not. However, if these spaces are examined within the framework of the possibilities of publicity, they contain much more than that. This study claims that the Altıyol Square in Istanbul Kadıköy has such a quality, and deals with the publicity possibilities that emerged especially with the relocation of the Bull Statue to this area.
