Özet:

Esad Muhlis Pasha late eighteenth century-mid-nineteenth century was a statesman, poet, and calligrapher who used the pseudonyms Muhlis and Esad in his poetry. Pasha, while adhering to tradition in his poetry, was also one of the leading innovators of the changing literary world during the Tanzimat period. He composed lyrical, mystical, and wise poems and became one of the admired poets of his time. His work, Divançe-i Esad Paşa, was published in 1268 1852 using lithography at Takvimhane-i Amire. To date, three studies -a book, an undergraduate thesis, and a masters thesis- have analyzed this work, all relying exclusively on the lithographic edition. However, two additional manuscripts, including a draft attributed to the Pasha, have recently been identified. This article examines these manuscripts, investigates the possible background of the draft, and evaluates the textual differences between the manuscripts and the lithographic edition. Previously unpublished poems and couplets found in the manuscripts are introduced, and errors in earlier studies are corrected. The draft reveals that certain words in the lithographic edition require amendments and includes a ghazal and verses omitted from the lithographic version. Another manuscript contains additional poetic works not present in other known copies. In light of these findings, the article proposes a revised edition of Divançe-i Esad Paşa that incorporates all available sources. Such a publication would provide a more comprehensive and reliable text, shedding new light on Esad Muhlis Pashas poetic contributions.

Esad Muhlis Paşa, on sekizinci yüzyılın sonları ile on dokuzuncu asrın ilk yarısında yaşamış devlet adamı, şair ve hattattır. Şiirlerinde Muhlis ve Esad mahlaslarını kullanmıştır. Şiirde geleneğe bağlı olmakla birlikte, değişen edebiyat dünyasının Tanzimat dönemindeki önde gelen yenilikçilerinden de biridir. Lirik, tasavvufi ve hikmetamiz şiirler kaleme almış, devrinin beğenilen şairlerinden biri olmuştur. Dîvânçe-i Esad Paşa, 1268 1852 yılında, taş baskı tekniğiyle Takvîm-hâne-i Âmirede basılmıştır.
