Özet:

Kemalpaşazâde was a versatile, talented, and knowledgeable scholar who lived during the 15th and 16th centuries. His real name was Şemseddin Ahmed, and he became widely known as Ibn Kemal or Kemalpaşazâde due to his grandfather, Kemâl Pasha, one of the viziers during the Fatih period. According to the historical sources, he wrote his works in the field of rhetoric in Arabic language. Although not all his contributions were well-known, a treatise titled Teşbîhât, which is focused on the art of simile, was found in a miscellany preserved in the Manuscripts Collection of the Turkish Republic Presidency of Religious Affairs Library. The existing literature has no information about the treatise, which briefly explains metaphors about the lovers heart using subheadings and sample couplets. The sample poems in the text are selected from the authors own works and the divans of Ahmed Pasha and Ali Şir Nevayi. In this study, we included the inferences regarding our research on whether the treatise belongs to Kemalpaşazâde. Furthermore, we examined the methodology and content of the treatise and presented a translated version along with the facsimile.
