Özet:

Competitiveness and innovation, which have an important place in the development of the countrys economies, have become the issues that have been emphasized since the 1970s. For economic performance to improve, it is necessary to have a competitive economy. Innovation is considered to be one of the most important factors that strengthen competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the performances of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development OECD countries in the field of competition and innovation. Criteria that are thought to affect performance in these areas; The Global Competitiveness Index CRE has been determined as RD expenditures, total number of patents, workforce productivity and number of researchers as innovation determinants. In the study, in which the EDAS Evaluation based on Distance from Average Solution method, which is a Multi-Criteria Decision Making MCDM method, was used, the data of 2022, the year in which the most up-to-date data could be accessed. According to the empirical findings, it has been determined that the country with the best performance is Japan, followed by the United States of America USA and Korea. It is thought that the article is going to fill the gap in the literature by examining competition and innovation together and performing EDAS method performance analysis specifically for OECD countries.
