Özet:

Many epidemics have been seen in various periods of history. These diseases have not only spread and caused mass deaths, but have also led to fundamental changes in individual and societal behaviour and perceptions. Literature, on the other hand, with its unlimited structure that can cover every period of human life, has led to the creation of a large number of works dealing with these changes in the context of epidemics. These works provide important information about the socio-psychological structure of society. Peoples thoughts about the epidemic, their attitude towards the disease and its effect on human psychology have been the subject of literature. Therefore, since these diseases affect a large part of the society, literature has been an important field that tries to reflect the collective spirit of the society through the disease. Within the scope of epidemic literature, poetry shows a great difference from other genres. As a matter of fact, in an environment where medical knowledge was frequently discussed due to the disease, poetry talked about the effects of the epidemic on the human emotional world. In this context, situations such as mass deaths, peoples helplessness and uncertainty in the face of disease have created a rich source of material for poetry. Epidemic diseases have found a wide place in both prose and poetry in both classical and modern periods of Arabic literature. It is possible to see traces of the epidemic, especially in the lament genre written after the dead. The disease that has left its mark on the current era has been the Covid-19 epidemic. In this study, the reflection of the epidemic caused by the Covid-19 virus on Arabic poetry is analysed through examples of poems in printed and digital sources.
