Özet:

Starting from ancient times and up until today, many philosophers have expressed their ideas about language and tried to describe what language is or isnt from their own perspectives. Efforts have been made to explore the relationship between language and meaning, art, literature, education, thinking, and the various fields where language is used. Like many philosophers, John Dewey has also expressed his thoughts on language in his works. Language is a phenomenon that brings people together. Language, an inseparable part of life, is crucial not only for individual human existence but also for social life. Language is an indispensable part of human beings when it comes to expressing oneself and understanding the meaning of things. It carries meanings and enables these meanings to be used by people. Language, which enables us to express ourselves both verbally and non-verbally through signs, is the most important feature that distinguishes humans from other living creatures. Humans reveal and reflect what is in their minds through language.
