Özet:

This study primarily examines the relationship between attitudes towards animals and religiosity and spirituality. The main focus of this study is how individuals who subjectively identify as religious organize their relationships with animals and to what extent their religious beliefs shape their relationships with animals. The study investigates to what extent individuals who claim to have a religious inclination are influenced by animal welfare. Religious life, experiences, and the effects of religion on personality play an important role in an individuals emotional control and interaction with their environment. Psychologically, individuals who feel good about themselves not only experience more peace and happiness but also find fulfillment in helping others. The natural and human environment in which individuals dwell, their education, the attitudes of other religious individuals, and their existing mental capacity all contribute to the development of religious behavior and attitudes. In this study, university students attitudes towards animal welfare were examined to see if they differed based on their religious inclination, and a significant relationship between religiosity attitudes and levels of animal welfare was identified.
