Özet:

It is an undisputed fact that the Western world has an important role in the formation of Islamophobia. However, it is clear that it was Muslims who gave these infrastructure materials to the West and this needs to be examined. In studies, the West generally blames Muslims; The Islamic world also makes evaluations based on its negative view of Islam, blaming the West. First, the Islamic world needs to face the problems and go for an image restoration by self-criticism, instead of escaping the responsibility by blaming others. In this study, we tried to examine the aspect of Islamophobia in the West towards the Islamic world and the responsibility of Muslims with a self-critical approach and offer solutions. Some basic problems for the Islamic world in the formation of Islamophobia are as follows: sanctification of persons or institutions; bigotry, ignorance and abuse of religion; Islam is imprisoned in the past and closed to renewal; loss of unity of revelation and reason; failure to produce a universal understanding of morality; Images of bombings and executions displayed in the name of Islamic jihad; presentation of customs and traditions as religion; devaluation of women and violence; rights violations and freedom of thought issues; loss of trust, justice, competence, merit. Evaluating the self-criticism topics and struggle methods we have listed from different perspectives with other studies will be a guide for the Islamic world.
