Özet:

The Quran is the word of Allah and is a special name given to the last divine book. It is known that many definitions of the Quran have been made in the historical process. Considering that the definition is of vital importance in terms of determining the essence of the thing and distinguishing it from similar ones, the importance of identifying the different definitions made for the Quran will be better understood. The determination and declaration of the definition of the Quran by Said Nursi d. 1960, who stated that his works are like a commentary on the Quran, has a different importance in terms of the science of tafsir. The reason for this importance is that Said Nursi is an influential figure in the establishment of intellectualism in the history of Islamic thought and his works, Risâle-i Nûr, are constantly read by a wide audience, especially in our country. What is the Quran and what is its definition? His answer to the questions reveals his definition of the Quran. Said Nursi, who handles the issue on the scale of the universe, truth and guidance, defines the Qurân al-kerîm as the last divine book that introduces God Almighty, the universe, truth, guidance and the hereafter, the likes of which are impossible. Said Nursi emphasized that the one who created and governs the universe and the one who sent the Quran are the same power, and in his definition he focused especially on the relationship between the Quran and the universe. It is observed that there is a close connection between his definition and the purpose for which the Quran was sent. The fact that the definition has a wide scope, that it is compatible with the purpose of the Quran, that it contains the general characteristics of the book, and that it combines theoretical discourse and practical effects together reveals the difference of the definition. The research is built on the determination of the relevant definition and the declaration of its nature.
