Exploring College Students’ Perception Of Tasawwuf Through Online Photovoice (OPV) Methodology

 In this study, as the researchers, we explored the university students perceptions of Tasawwuf studying in departments related to helping professions theologyIslamic sciences, counseling, social work, nursing, medicine, etc. and students studying in other departments in Turkey. We used Online Photovoice OPV to capture the studens unique perspective. We used Online Interpretative Phenemological Analysis OIPA to analyze the data. We had 409 students participated; however, 317 214 female and 103 male completed and included for the analysis. In line with the themes obtained from all participants, a total of 21 main themes emerged. The most important main themes are including pleasurable emotions: peace and love, 25,86, n82; seeing God in the world and communicating with God, everything reminding God to us, loopcycle, getting close to the Lord 25,86, n82; commitment, intimacy, the God-divine love, trust, commitment, annihilation in God 22,08, n70; the search for meaning and spiritual satisfaction, awareness, and a delicate process and spirituality 19,55, n62. There were differences between percetions of the students from helping professionals and other professionals. In general, the students had a positive understanding and perception of Tasawwuf and expressed it with positive words, concepts and thoughts that have functional and deep meanings.

 Bu çalışmada araştırmacılar, Online Seslifoto OSF yöntemiyle Türkiyede yardım meslekleriyle ilgili bölümlerde ilahiyatİslami ilimler, PDR Psikolojik Danışmanlık ve Rehberlik, sosyal hizmet, hemşirelik, tıp vb. okuyan öğrenciler ile belirtilen bölümler dışında farklı bölümlerde okuyan üniversite öğrencilerinin tasavvuf konusundaki algılayışlarını kendi biricik perspektiflerinden inceleyerek keşfetmeye çalışmıştır. Araştırmaya toplam 409 üniversite öğrencisi katılmış, yeterli ölçütleri taşımayan anketler çıkarılarak nihai olarak 103 erkek 214 kadın toplam 317 kişi ile veri analizi yapılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde Online Yorumlayıcı Fenomenolojik Analizi OYFA kullanılmıştır. Tüm katılımcılardan elde edilen temalar doğrultusunda toplam 21 ana tema oluşmuştur. En önemli ana temalar ve oranları şöyle olmuştur; hoşa giden duygular: Huzur, aşk, sevgi 25,86, n82, âlemde Allahı görme ve Onunla iletişim, her şeyin bize Onu hatırlatması, döngü, bizi rabbe ulaştırır 25,86, n82, rabbe bağlılık, yakınlık, Ona duyulan sevgi-ilahi aşk, tevekkül, kendini Ona adama, Onda yok olma 22,08, n70, anlam arayışı, ruhi doyum, farkındalık, hassas bir süreç, maneviyat 19,55, n62. Genel olarak öğrenciler tasavvufa ilişkin olumlu bir anlayışa ve algıya sahip olup, tasavvufu işlevsel ve derin anlamlar içeren olumlu söz, kavram ve düşüncelerle ifade etmişlerdir. Sonuçlar, ortaya çıkan ana temalar yoluyla karşılaştırılmış, yardım meslekleriyle ilgili bölümlerde okuyan öğrenciler ile diğer bölümlerde okuyan öğrenciler arasındaki farklılıklar ele alınmıştır.
