Özet:

Bibliometric research keeps a specific statistical record of studies conducted in a particular field. The aim of studies prepared using this method is to determine whether sufficient research has been conducted on the selected topic and to identify the approach taken in the conducted research. The analyses and data criteria used in the study can be very general or based on much more specific and detailed data, depending on the researchers preference. Furthermore, these studies also take their place in the literature as guiding and illuminating studies for future research in the field. In this research, the bibliometric analysis method was used to identify research conducted on Antioch during the Middle Ages and to obtain information about its details. In this context, all postgraduate theses prepared in Turkey on the subject of Antioch in the Medieval were scanned. In addition to theses, the academic article repository named Dergipark, which operates in Turkey, was also utilized. The reason for selecting and including this site in the study is its structure established, supported, and supervised by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM to serve science and researchers. Thus, Dergipark, which as of 2023 contains 2396 journals, 609,328 researchers, and 648,896 articles, is important in providing data for research. In data scanning platforms, there are 51 theses in the History Department of the YÖK National Thesis Center with Antakya theme. However, there are only 9 studies related to the Middle Ages. In Dergipark, there are 19 article studies related to Antakya theme. Outside of Dergipark, there are 9 publications in other databases. Additionally, there are 13 book chapter studies. There is no study on Antakya theme in the Middle Ages period in Belleten journal. Thus, the aim was to examine publications in Turkey that address the topic of Antioch in the Medieval according to quantitative values and to map the landscape of studies in this field.
