Özet:

Even though Russia has mostly lands in the Asian continent, it does not change the fact that Russia is a country that belongs to Continental Europe with its political, economic and historical aspects. When looking at European political history from a perspective from past to present, Russia is among the European states. After the Second World War, several states that set out with the necessity of European integration became united as a result of the stones that were laid and led to the European Union EU. Ultimately, in the bipolar world politics that emerged with the Second World War, the EU was in the western bloc and Russia was in the eastern bloc. During the Cold War, the EU had relations with Russia that sometimes had ups and downs and sometimes escalated crises. Ultimately, EU-Russia relations have gained momentum in the 21st century and this has progressed more economically. However, Russias invasion of Crimea in 2014 and the political developments in Ukraine showed that the existing EU-Russia relations entered a different entrance with the interventions from the Atlantic side. Likewise, the Russia-Ukraine war is progressing as the USA wants, which has affected all the EUs economic relations with Russia. In particular, the Russia-Ukraine war is important in many aspects of Black Sea geopolitics for Romania and Bulgaria, which are members of the EU. This is why Black Sea Geopolitics has strategic importance in EU-Russia relations.
