Özet:

Muslims are
constantly making the european newspaper headlines. Media coverage diffuse a
stereotypical image of this religion and its believers. The purpose of this
work is not only to determine what contribution the European media in the rise
of intolerance and prejudice against these two issues in European societies,
but also to establish the origins of representations and perceptions media
about these matters by taking as a starting point Bourdieu concepts such as
“habitus” and “field”. This work will attempt to answer the question
"Should we inspect in the media discourse on Islam and
Muslims the footsteps of a “phobia” or a “habitus” ? "

.
