 The aim of this study is to evaluate the financial performance of banks during the pandemic period. The scope of the study consists of the 7 largest banks in our country in terms of asset sizes, 3 of which are state-owned. In the study, the financial data of the banks for the years 2019-2021 were tried to be evaluated by ELECTRE and TOPSIS methods, which are multi-criteria decision-making methods, both on a yearly basis and taking into account their 3-year average values. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that private banks performed better than public banks. The main reason for this performance difference can be expressed as the fact that while the loan amounts increased at the same level, their profits did not increase at the same level, as public banks tried to subsidize both households and businesses, especially SMEs, with low-interest loans during the Covid-19 pandemic process.

 Bu çalışmanın amacı pandemi döneminde bankaların finansal performanslarını değerlendirmektir. Çalışmanın kapsamını ülkemizde aktif büyüklükleri bakımından 3ü kamu sermayeli olmak üzere en büyük 7 bankası oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada bankaların 2019-2021 yılları mali verileri hem yıl bazında hem de 3 yıllık ortalama değerleri dikkate alınarak çok kriterli karar verme yöntemlerinden ELECTRE ve TOPSIS yöntemleriyle değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda özel sermayeli bankalarının kamu bankalarına oranla daha iyi bir performans sergilediği görülmüştür. Bu performans farkının temel sebebinin kamu bankalarının Covid-19 pandemi sürecinde hem hane halkını hem de başta KOBİler olmak üzere işletmeleri düşük faizli kredilerle sübvanse etmeye çalışmasından dolayı kredi miktarları aynı düzeylerde artış gösterirken karlarının aynı düzeyde artmaması şeklinde ifade edilebilir.
