Özet:

From the very beginning, in the Ottoman Empire which was founded on religious foundations, the institutions of Şeyhülislamlık and the mufti were needed to guide the rulers and the public. While there was generally an official guide for religious matters during the reign of each sultan in the first periods, ‘Şeyhülislamlık’ as an institution was established after the period of interregnum. The principle of unity and functioning of the state system perfectly gained the utmost attention in the Ottoman Empire which ruled an important part of the world history and geography for six centuries. In this regard, all kinds of intimidation that would put the state in trouble were tried to remove by the state itself. As a conceptual research, the focus will be not only on the activities of Ahizade Hüseyin, Hocazade Mesud Efendi and Seyyid Mehmed Feyzullah Efendi who were massacred in the Ottoman Emprie but also causes and forms of their massacre. In this study, it was aimed to draw attention to the fact that there were also different events apart from the murders of bothers for the sake of the future of the state which was the top agenda of that time in addition to gathering the dispersed sources of the topic.
