Özet:

Within Modern Turkish Literature, Sait Faik has brought a new orientation to the Turkish story, which it has given a modern face by connecting with Ömer Seyfettins traditional storytelling. Sait Faiks orientation that reflects the individual with his psychology has a modern voice. This orientation, known as the situation story, also influenced the poetry and novel of its time. Prioritizing enlightening the inner world of the individual, Sait Faik believes that Love will start everything. This belief reveals a strong power of observation and a humanistic insight in the axis of individual, society and emotion in Sait Faiks storytelling. The world of people who do not pay attention to their lives creates a bridge between the social structure and the inner world of the individual in his stories. The pure, at the same time poetic language that he captures is one of the breakthroughs of the original relationship between the inner world of the individual and his social position. The story of Gramophone and Writing Machine, which will set an example for this breakthrough, is included in Sait Faiks book Mahalle Kahvesi. In the story, gramophone and typewriter follow the traces of sincerity, while the radio and printing press carry the object figure that damages the sense of sincerity. While the artist stands next to the gramophone and typewriter in this stalemate, he describes the printing press as a tool of lies and deception. In this study, Sait Faiks point of view on printing and printing activities is discussed through the story Gramophone and Writing Machine. It will focus on the sociological background of the printing technology, which is the main element of the mentioned conflict, on the author, the work and the society.
