Özet:

An artwork exists within a material integrity with the material it embodies. It shares physical characteristics with other existing objects. However, the artwork distinguishes itself through its relationship with the material and its method of production. This study examines how this distinction occurs and how the artwork positions itself among other existing entities. To this end, Heideggers views on art have been taken as the central focus. This is because Heidegger approaches the artwork beyond any definition that reduces it to an object. According to Heidegger, an artwork should be examined through its connection with being and truth. Only in this way can the meaning of the artwork as a work be understood.
