Özet:

Although the life story of Cemil Meriç, who has an important place in the history of Turkish literature with both his works and his life, has been frequently studied especially in the fields of literature and sociology, it has not been sufficiently studied in the field of psychology. To know an important figure like Cemil Meriç, it is necessary to understand his personal goals, interests, plans, strategies, life tasks and personal endeavors as well as the integrity of his life story. The main problem of this study is to examine Meriçs life, to identify the psychological problems he experienced and to reveal how these experiences should be evaluated from an existentialist perspective. The aim of the study is to conduct a psychological analysis of Cemil Meriçs life under the four main themes of existential psychology: death, freedom, isolation and meaninglessness. The research was organized as a compilation of information, and Meriçs works, which directly include his life, were used. The study analyzes the difficulties such as isolation, depression, and loss of vision experienced by Meriç within the four basic themes of existential psychology: death, freedom, isolation and meaninglessness, and psychological analyzes. This study will help us deeply understand Cemil Meriçs life and inner world.
