Özet:

The aim of this study is to examine the understanding of conservatism that affects the formation of the AK Partys conservative democrat identity within the framework of identity and discourse analysis. In this context, in the study, firstly, the theoretical analysis of conservatism was presented in general terms. Then, the political developments that paved the way for the establishment of the AK Party were examined. Based on the AK Partys statute and program, it has been seen that it has adopted the identity of conservative democrat. Thus, the AK Party has followed a political line that bridges traditional and modern, local and universal values, and has tried to create a multi-identity political field that suits everyones demands. During the process, depending on the developments during its rule, the AK Party made some changes in its conservative democrat identity, and these developments conjuncturally led the AK Party to make conservative revolutionary and nationalist conservative discourses in its policies and actions.
