Özet:

Black feminism is a type of feminism that addresses the experiences and struggles of black women. This movement emerged in the late 1960s as a response to the predominantly white feminist movement that often neglected or marginalized the experiences of women of color. Black feminism aims to highlight the intersectionality of race, gender, and class in the lives of black women and to fight for their liberation and empowerment. Black feminism has brought the existence of multidimensional identities to academic literature with the principle of being more embracive and fair although the criticism of white feminists who thought that dividing into subcategories would cause a division of power in the struggle. The main purpose of this study is to provide a critical approach to black feminism and intersectionality giving details about the history and ideology of black feminism and intersectionality conceptualized by Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw with examples.
