Özet:

In this study, Mustafa Kutlus story, Dürbünlü Çiçek The Flower with Binoculars, was analysed from an ecocritical perspective. Ecocriticism is an approach that examines the relationship between literature and the environment and questions how nature and human-nature interaction are portrayed in literary texts. In this study, using the document review method, it was found that nature was portrayed in the story as a living character and a metaphor for human life. The deep connection and harmony between humans and nature were emphasized with detailed and vivid descriptions of nature in the story. The old mans life interwoven with nature was addressed through traditional practises and spiritual ties. With the loss of the function of the watermill and the introduction of the electric mill, the negative effects of modernisation on nature and traditional life were critically examined. It was shown that this transformation led to the separation of people from nature and traditions, the weakening of social ties and gaps in the spiritual worlds of individuals. Mustafa Kutlus story, Dürbünlü Çiçek The Flower with Binoculars describes the central role of nature in human life and how modernisation weakens ties with nature. This study emphasises the power of literature in creating environmental awareness and offers a new perspective on the relationship between humans and nature. In this context, the story Dürbünlü Çiçek The Flower with Binoculars is evaluated as a literary work that questions the environmental and social effects of modernisation. This study aims to contribute to the role of literature in creating awareness of environmental problems.
