Özet:

Ten metal artefacts registered in the inventory of the Sivas Archaeology Museum constitute the subject of this article. This study publishes two axes with handle holes, one ceremonial axe with a handle hole, four lugged axes, two flat axes chisels, and one stonemasons hammer. Six of the axes studied Cat. No. 2-8 have previously been the subject of a scientific publication. Two axes with handle holes Cat. No. 9, 10 and two flat axeschisels Cat. No. 1, 2 are published here for the first time. The provenance of these 10 metal artefacts reveals that they were acquired by the Sivas Archaeology Museum through purchase and confiscation. Cat. No. 2 was recovered as a surface find from the Kümbet Village Mound, Zara District, Sivas Province. The find locations of nine artefacts Cat. No. 1, 3, 10 are unknown. The 10 metal artefacts were compared with similar examples recovered during excavations and found in museums. The artefacts were dated by analogy and assigned to the Early, Middle, and Late Bronze Ages, and the Iron Age. The examination of the artefacts provided information about their usage areas and functions. They were likely utilized for daily use, warfare, woodwork, stonemasonry, and organic objects and as ritual objects. Cat. No. 3 is considered to have been imported to Anatolia. The artefacts dating to the Late Bronze Age Cat. No. 5-8 resemble the Hittite types. They also show parallels in shape and characteristics with artefacts recovered from Western and Northern Anatolian centres.
