Özet:

Antalya was conquered by the Seljuqs in 1207 and became a Muslim-Turkish city. The city fell from Seljuq rule in 1215 due to an internal rebellion and was conquered for the second time by the Seljuqs in early 1216. Especially after the second conquest, Antalya witnessed intensive construction activities and continued its development as an important harbour city. After the conquest in both 1207 and 1216, the administration of the city was entrusted to Mubariz al-din Ertokus, one of the leading Seljuq amirs. The fact that Mubariz al-din Ertokus, one of the most senior amirs of gulam origin and one of the most senior amirs in the Seljuqs state mechanism, was twice appointed as military governor in Antalya reveals the importance the state attached to the city. A new Seljuqs inscription found a few years ago in the Antalya Ethnography Museum reveals that Mubariz al-din Ertokus was the military governor of Antalya for a longer period of time than previously known, and that he himself was involved in construction activities in the city. Moreover, it is highly probable that this inscription is a tangible evidence of the mosque, which is known to have been built by amir Mubariz al-din Ertokus in Antalya through his waqfiyyah, but which has not survived to the present day. The limestone inscription exhibited in Antalya Ethnography Museum with inventory number 201826 is a 5-line Arabic construction inscription. It belongs to a building built in 618 AH 12211222 AD. Within the scope of our study, general information about Amir Mubariz al-din Ertokus was given, his activities in Antalya were discussed and new data provided by the newly found inscription in terms of Antalya and Seljuq History were revealed.
