Özet:

Ceramic products, which carry traces of culture from the past to the present and are considered an important heritage, have reached us as witnesses of their time. Through the areas they were used in and the symbols they bear, they represent documented concepts of accumulated life. In this sense, Northern Cyprus is rich in such works. Ceramic objects and the craft of pottery, which have continuity and carry traces of the lifestyle and culture of society over time, are struggling to survive in Northern Cyprus today. In Lapithos, once a significant ceramic production center in the past, traditional ceramic production is currently being maintained in the only remaining workshop. However, the fact that this workshop is on the verge of closure raises the danger of traditional Lapithos pottery disappearing altogether. Since no studies have been conducted on the issue to date, this work was carried out to determine the current situation and raise awareness to contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage. New data were obtained through an interview with Hasan Eminağa, the owner and master potter of the Dizayn 74 Pottery operating in Lapithos.
