Özet:

The aim of the study is to develop a scale to measure the opinions of parents who have children in the preschool period about their childrens use of social media. The scale items were prepared as a result of the literature review and the items were presented to the opinion of 5 field experts in order to ensure the structure and content validity of the items. Data were collected from 317 parents in the 2020-2021 academic year. Research participants were reached through appropriate sampling. Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin KMO and Bartlett tests were performed to check the suitability of the scale items for factor analysis. The KMO fit measure value was found to be 904 and the Barlett Test of Sphericity value was found to be 3498.913, which is significant at the ,00 level. As a result of the factor analysis, a single factor scale consisting of 26 items was reached, and when factor load values were examined, it was seen that the values ranged between 0.44 and 0.82. As a result of the confirmatory factor analysis, the data obtained in the sample showed a fit with the model X2df 2.31, RMSEA0.095. While the Cronbach alpha coefficient calculated for the scale was 0.95, the McDonald ɷ coefficient was found to be 0.96, and it was interpreted that the data had high reliability.
