Geleneksel oyunlar; bireylerin bilişsel, fiziksel, duygusal ve sosyal gelişimini sağlamakla birlikte toplumun sosyal ve kültürel temellerini oluşturur. Bilgi aktarıcı bir tür olarak geleneksel oyunların kültürün derinlemesine çözümlenmesi gerektiği fikri doğrultusunda; insanlığın postmodern yapı içerisinde teknolojik gelişmelerle dijital ortama aktarımının kültürel bağlamıyla analiz edilmesi ve bunların değişim-dönüşümünün etki ve işlevlerinin incelenmesi, kültürel analiz açısından önem taşır. Bu makalede, bebek patlaması kuşağından alfa kuşağına her bir kuşağın katılımıyla icra edilen Uygur Türklerinin geleneksel karlık oyunu, kuşaklararasılık bağlamında işlevsel halkbilimi bağlamında ele alınmış teknolojinin kültürü etkilemesi ile oyunun dijitale aktarımının sonucu olarak biçimsel ve anlamsal değişim-dönüşümü, yeniden işlevlendirme yaklaşımı ortaya konulmuştur. Kuşaklar arasında eğlenerek yarışma, birlik-beraberliği pekiştirme, eğitim, boş zaman aktivitesi oluşturma gibi işlevler kazandıran karlık oyununun kültürün dijitalleşme karşısında katılımcı aktöricra eden ya da paylaşanların yaş kalıpları, kültürel adaptasyonlarıentegrasyonları, güncel teknolojiyi kullanma gibi durumlar karşısında kültürel sürekliliğinin ve işlevselliğinin durumu ele alınarak değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak geleneksel oyununun kültürel göç, modern yaşam gibi koşullardan kaynaklı dijitale aktarılarak yeniden işlev kazandırıldığı saptanmıştır.
