Özet:

Bağlama has been the most widely used instrument of Turkish folk music from past to present and has been used in many musical genres that differ from its musical belonging. In parallel with this expansion in the field of performance, a number of innovations have occurred in both playing and production techniques. These innovations in both disciplines have led the producers to make a bağlama suitable for the needs of the era and the performers, and the performers to have a bağlama in line with their performance practices and expectations. In this respect, bağlama production and performance have been a subject that performers and producers are closely interested in as two disciplines that are in elbow contact with each other and need to be handled holistically. Especially the richness of the repertoire of works performed by advanced performers and the degree of difficulty of these works have made the qualities of the bağlama used important. The aim of this research, which is a qualitative case study, is to determine the qualities of a quality bağlama from the perspective of performers and producers and to reveal the variables affecting this, the effect of a quality bağlama on performance practices, the variables affecting the bağlama preferences of performers and the production techniques of producers. For this purpose, semi-structured interviews consisting of 4 open-ended questions were conducted with 11 master producers and 11 master performers who were determined by taking expert opinion. The data obtained from the interviews were categorized by applying descriptive analysis method and these categories were tabulated to reflect frequency and percentage information. It was concluded that the participants expressed similar views on the quality of a quality context and the variables affecting its formation, as well as having contrasting views. It has been observed that the participants largely think similarly about the effect of a quality bağlama on their performance practices, but some participants have different approaches. It was determined that the preferences of the performers were shaped on the basis of their personal approaches and performance practices. However, it has been observed that while some producers take into account the performance practices in the bağlama making process, some producers adopt a standardized making technique. Based on the results obtained within the scope of the research, some recommendations are presented.
