Özet:

Ruins have important values and opportunities in terms of landscape with their natural-cultural environments, ecological and visual effects. Karahantepe Ruins, which is the study area, constitutes one of the cornerstones of both the region and the Anatolian culture since it is one of the zero points of history. In this context, Karahantepe Ruins offers recreational opportunities as well as having an important place in terms of cultural tourism. Considering these features, the study analyzed the landscape values of Karahantepe Ruins and its surroundings. Afterwards, a SWOT analysis was carried out by considering the landscape values of the area in terms of cultural tourism. As a result, it was seen that the area has a high potential in terms of both cultural and natural landscape resources and has preserved some of its landscape values in the 12000 years from the period it was built to the present day. With this study, it is thought that examining the landscape values of similar ruins will contribute to the literature in terms of enabling the correct landscape planning and design of such areas that shape the course of history, protecting natural and cultural landscape assets, and ensuring the harmony of the areas with the surrounding settlements.
