Özet:

This study aims to comparatively examine Thomas de Quinceys Confessions of an English Opium-Eater and its Turkish translation by Batu Boran, focusing on translator visibility. In this context, Kaisa Koskinens concepts and approach to visibility are presented to provide a theoretical framework. The objective of the study is to discuss whether translator visibility can transcend the binary opposition of visibleinvisible. Within this framework, this study aims to discuss whether the translators visibility operates and functions in different texts and translations, considering the question of whether Koskinens types of translators visibility may operate and function in different forms in various texts, and to open up this phenomenon for discussion. The study is expected to contribute to the discussion of translator visibility as a phenomenon that can be determined for each work and translator individually.
