Özet:

Consuming street food is as much a part of everyday life today as in the past. Street food is becoming increasingly important as it meets the need to eat quickly and economically. One of the most effective ways to experience and discover a different culture is to try street food. Therefore, street food attracts the interest of both local and foreign visitors, as it offers both the opportunity to experience a different culture and the need to eat cheaply and quickly. Today, videos shared on social media platforms significantly introduce street food to people from different cultures and attract interest. The comments made by users on these videos are important for making cross-cultural comparisons and identifying likes and dislikes. This study examined comments made on videos posted on YouTube about Turkish street food. The study evaluated comments made on the five most-viewed videos related to Turkish street food. Comments on the videos were examined under four categories: food characteristics taste, smell, taste, price, hygiene, and culinary culture. Of the 12,298 comments made on these videos, 968 were categorised under the relevant categories. The categories with the most comments were, in order: characteristics of the food 650 comments, price 210 comments, hygiene 72 comments, and food culture 26 comments.
