Özet:

This article reflects the results of a field study on immigrant integration in Turkey. Within the scope of the research, interviews were conducted with the central and provincial organizations of the General Directorate of Migration Management, and local government and NGO officials in the provinces of Istanbul and Gaziantep, where the immigrant population is the most dense. The results of the research are analyzed and the difficulties in immigration integration in Turkey, the factors that will facilitate integration, and how the difficulties in integration can be solved are summarized in the article. The main results of the research can be summarized as follows: Among the factors that make immigrant integration difficult in Turkey, the prevalence of negative attitudes and behaviors towards immigrants, language problems, the fact that immigrants do not comply with the rules of etiquette and law from time to time, and concerns about security come to the fore. The main factors facilitating immigrant integration are Turkeys cultural diversity and multiculturalism, the use of immigrants as cheap labor, and the fact that majority of immigrants have been Muslims.
