Özet:

Purpose: It aims to examine the opinions of university students about their motivation to participate in volunteering activities, in particular, the Awareness Club within a foundation university. Method: The data were collected through semi-structured interviews with seventeen university students who were members of the student club. Questions were presented in two categories. The questions about the club aims to understand their motivation to take part in volunteering activities. The general evaluation questions aim to understand the participants evaluation about the activities carried out in the club. Findings: It has been observed that university students generally have similar motivations for participating in volunteering activities, and these motivations are shaped by external factors such as socialization and career goals, as well as internal factors based on emotions such as happiness and pleasure provided to the participant. Authenticity: Debates about the good and evil of human nature have persisted throughout history. This questioning, which started in the Ancient Greek Period, continued in the Enlightenment Period. This study, which will contribute to the comparative evaluations of thinkers who have studied human nature throughout history, will consider volunteering as a testable field of human nature, examine the motivations for participation in a student club, and offer inferences about the pessimism and altruism of human nature.

Amaç: Bir vakıf üniversitesi topluluğu olan, Farkındalık Topluluğu özelinde, üniversite öğrencilerinin gönüllülük faaliyetlerine katılım motivasyonlarıyla ilgili görüşlerini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Yöntem: Çalışmanın verileri, topluluk üyesi olan on yedi üniversite öğrencisiyle yapılan yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşmelerle toplanmıştır.
