Özet:

Historians research methods employed to comprehend past events and societies hold critical significance not only for individuals but also for unveiling the historical impacts of manifested groups within the course of history. These methods facilitate an understanding beyond individual lives, allowing for an exploration of collective experiences, group dynamics, and societal changes. Ultimately, these approaches aid historians in delving more profoundly into events that occurred throughout history, considering the intricate interactions of both individuals and groups. Group biographies and prosopographies have emerged as pivotal methodological tools in this context. This study focused descriptively on group biography and prosopography as approaches that contributed to uncovering the thematic inclusivity of individual stories within collective contexts by emphasizing the commonalities among historical actors rather than solely on the protagonist of history. The nature, objectives, methodologies, contributions, and limitations of the group biography and prosopographic approach were explored in broad strokes within the context of the descriptive features of these two approaches from the perspective of historiography.
