Özet:

The aim of this research is to reveal what happened during the migration of Bulgarian Turks to Turkey in 1984-1989, based on their experiences. In this direction, the method of the research was determined as phenomenology. The purpose of phenomenology is to determine what the phenomenon means to individuals who experience it and can provide a clear definition of it. This entails purposive sampling, in which participants are selected based on their ability to provide relevant information that will help the researcher gain an in-depth understanding of the research problem. The study, which was constructed with the phenomenological method focusing on lived experiences, was structured on interviews with 10 participants who experienced the events in the 1984-1989 period. The data obtained from the interviews with the participants constitute the main data source of the research. As a result, Turks living within the borders of Bulgaria have been ruled by more moderate administrations from time to time in the history of this country, sometimes they have been treated well due to various interests, and sometimes they have been subjected to persecution and pressure due to different political and economic plans. However, the 1984-1989 period was the scene of perhaps the greatest grievances and human rights violations among these experiences. This situation necessitated great immigration and when they came to Turkey, although they had a single national origin, Turkey came across as an unusual culture due to factors such as the differentiation of the languages of the country they came from and political practices, and the adaptation process was arduous.
