 The mining sector is a sector with a high risk of occupational accidents due to the nature of its activities. Although there are many factors that cause occupational accidents, the human factor, which is the most important among them, should be examined. It is important to assess employees perceptions of occupational health and safety in order to create a culture of safety, particularly in the workplace. In this study, a questionnaire was used to evaluate the occupational health and safety perceptions of gold mine workers n217 in Gumushane province. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 statistical program. As a result of the analysis between employees perceptions of occupational health and safety and selected demographic variables age, education level, field of work, length of work experience, and length of work experience at the current workplace, statistically significant differences were found between employees demographic characteristics and the dimensions of the safety climate scale in the questionnaire. Depending on age, years of work, work areas and working hours in their current workplace, it is noteworthy that young employees under 20 years old and the older age group over 60 years old have a fatalistic understanding, while young and middle-aged employees with experience have a high level of awareness of occupational health and safety, and their perception of communication and safety is positive.

 Madencilik sektörü, faaliyetlerinin doğası gereği iş kazası riski yüksek bir sektördür. İş kazalarına neden olan birçok faktör bulunmakla birlikte bunların arasında en önemli olan insan faktörünün irdelenmesi gerekmektedir. Özellikle çalışma ortamlarında güvenlik kültürünün oluşturulabilmesi için çalışanların iş sağlığı ve güvenliğine yönelik algılarının değerlendirilmesi önem arz etmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Gümüşhane ilinde bulunan altın madeni çalışanlarının n217 iş sağlığı ve güvenliği algılarının değerlendirilmesi amacıyla anket uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 21.0 istatistik programında analiz edilmiştir. Çalışanların iş sağlığı ve güvenliği algıları ile seçilen demografik degişkenler yaş, eğitim durumu, çalışma alanları, mesleki deneyim süreleri ve mevcut iş yerindeki çalışma süreleri arasında yapılan analiz sonucunda, çalışanların demografik özellikleri ile ankette yer alan güvenlik iklim ölçeği boyutları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir. Çalışanlarda yaş, çalışma yılları, alanları ve mevcut iş yerlerindeki çalışma sürelerine bağlı olarak küçük yaştaki 20 yaş altı çalışanların ve ileri yaş grubunun 60 yaş üstü kaderci bir anlayışa sahip oldukları dikkat çekerken, tecrübe sahibi genç ve orta yaş gurubunun iş sağlığı ve güvenliği algılarının yüksek seviye olduğu, iletişim ve güvenlik algılarının pozitif yönde olduğu görülmüştür.
