Özet:

Introduction and Aim: This research was conducted in order to examine the mental endurance levels of students who study at the Faculty of Sports Sciences of Erzurum Technical University and do active sports and compare them in terms of some variables. Method: The universe of the research consists of active athletes studying at the Faculty of Sports Sciences of Erzurum Technical University, while the sample group consists of 132 students, 71 of whom are men and 61 of whom are women. In the study, the Personal Information Form was created by the researchers to determine the demographic characteristics of the participants, and the Personal Information Form was developed by Pehlivan and Dinç 2014 to determine the levels of mental resilience in sports, with 3 sub-dimensions consisting of 13 questions and 4 sub-dimensions of Trust, Commitment and Control. The Mental Endurance Scale in Sports, which is a Likert Type scale, was used. In the study, a descriptive test was applied to determine the demographic characteristics of the participants; T-Test was applied on independent variables to compare mental toughness levels in sports according to gender, national athlete status and sport type; The One Way Anova Test was applied to compare the mental endurance levels of the participants in sports according to age and duration of sportsmanship. Correlation analysis was applied to determine the level of relationship between sub-dimensions. Findings: When comparing the mental levels of the participants according to the national athlete, sport type and sport duration, no significant differences were found between the groups p0.05, and significant differences were found between the groups in gender and age variables p0.05. Result: According to the analysis, it has been determined that male participants have a high attitude in the sub-dimension of commitment compared to female participants, and participants in the 18-20 age group and 24 age group and above have a higher level of mental resilience in sports than the participants in the 21-23 age group.
